My experience in photography started forty (40) years ago while working on the high school year book. Photographic experience continued while working in aerial surveillance during three years in the US Army. I then spent twenty two (22) years as a trooper and sergeant with the Connecticut State Police.

My studio operated for ten (10) years as a part time wedding/portrait studio. Due to employment in state service, many of the commercial/legal photographic assignments were not allowed as this was a conflict of interest.

While in state service, I went to many different photography schools and worked on a bachelors degree in police science at the University of New Haven taking five different classes in photography. I have also taken many one week and one day seminars at the Professional Photographers of America, New England Institute of Professional Photography and Commercial Industrial Photographers of New England.

On March 1, 1986, I retired from state service and opened Fred Bird Photography as a full service commercial studio working in the areas of Industrial, Commercial, Legal, and Aerial photography. I work out of a double 20' x 40' studio in Ellington, Connecticut. One studio is a daylight studio while, the other utilizes total dark. The exterior area around the studio, is landscaped in many different styles including a fish pond. All of these areas are well suited for both product and portrait photographs.

Thank You
Fred Bird
